The loadout of the offshore high voltage substation „Borkum-West II“ onto the transport pontoon was carried out by using a skidding system. For that it became necessary to build a girder which would fulfill several functions: Eliminate differences in the correlation of height dimensions between skidding track on pontoon and slipway, support for the skidding track and spreading the loads from the 2.300 tons heavy substation in to the structure of the pontoon. Beginning with the design and construction followed by the workshop drawings we also supervised the construction and installation of the girder on the pontoon.
