The fabrication of huge components in the offshore wind industry is characterized by a distributed production structure. For this reason planning, control, and optimization of transport-, transfer- and storage-processes between various production sites and a base-port will be of central importance. The “SimTUL“ simulation software is a powerful and practical tool which founds the basis for optimized logistics processes and helps to monitor resource planning at the same time. The achievable transparency - especially for transports between production sites and a base-port - enables an inter-site use and efficient plant utilization of all partners involved. The “time-dynamic“ simulation of logistics processes enables users to generate and compare a variety of virtual solutions before acting in reality and even to develop alternative strategies and to evaluate potential risks.
